Author Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in Kahf: Journal of Management and Sharia Business. To ensure a smooth submission process, all authors are required to adhere to the following guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be returned for technical revision before entering the review process.

1. General Requirements

  • Originality: The manuscript must be original, has not been published previously, and is not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere.

  • Language: Manuscripts may be written in English (standard British or American) or Bahasa Indonesia.

  • File Format: Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).

  • Length: The manuscript should typically be between 4,000 and 7,000 words, including references and tables.

2. Manuscript Structure

The manuscript should be organized in the following order:

  • Title: Concise, informative, and reflects the content (max 15 words).

  • Abstract: A single paragraph (150–250 words) summarizing the research objective, methodology, key findings, and implications.

  • Keywords: 3 to 5 phrases, separated by semicolons (;).

  • Introduction: Background of the study, research gap, objectives, and theoretical framework.

  • Research Methods: Description of the research design, data collection, and analysis techniques.

  • Results and Discussion: Clear presentation of results supported by visuals (tables/figures) and a deep discussion comparing findings with previous literature and Sharia perspectives.

  • Conclusion: Summary of findings, limitations, and suggestions for future research.

  • References: All cited works must appear in the reference list.

3. Formatting and Style

  • Font: Constantia, 12pt.

  • Spacing: Single-spaced.

  • Margins: 3 cm for all sides.

  • Tables and Figures: Must be numbered consecutively (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1) and placed within the text close to where they are mentioned. High-resolution images are required.

4. Citations and References

Kahf uses the APA (American Psychological Association) 7th Edition style for both in-text citations and the reference list.

  • In-text citation: (Al-Faruqi, 2023) or (Hassan & Ibrahim, 2022).

  • Reference Management: Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.

  • Source Quality: At least 80% of references should be from primary sources (scientific journals) published within the last 10 years.

5. Submission Checklist

Before submitting through our OJS (Open Journal System) platform, please ensure:

  1. The Cover Letter is prepared.

  2. The manuscript is blinded (author names and affiliations removed from the main file for review).

  3. All authors’ metadata (name, affiliation, email, ORCID) is correctly entered in the OJS system.

  4. The Similarity Index is below 20%.
