Kahf: Journal of Management and Sharia Business maintains the highest standards of academic integrity through a rigorous evaluation process. All submitted manuscripts undergo a systematic review to ensure their quality, originality, and contribution to the field of Sharia management and business.
The journal employs a Double-Blind Peer Review policy. Under this policy, the identities of both the authors and the reviewers are kept confidential throughout the entire process to prevent any bias.
1. Pre-Check and Initial Screening
Upon submission, the Editorial Office performs an initial technical and clerical screening. The Editor-in-Chief or Section Editor evaluates the manuscript based on:
-
Scope Fit: Alignment with the journal's focus and scope.
-
Plagiarism Check: Screening for originality using Turnitin or iThenticate (maximum similarity index allowed is 20%).
-
Format Compliance: Adherence to the Author Guidelines and template.
-
Manuscripts that do not meet these basic criteria will be rejected (Desk Rejection) or returned for correction before being sent for review.
2. Peer Review Assignment
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two (2) independent reviewers who are experts in the specific subject area of the paper. Reviewers are selected based on their academic expertise and publication record.
3. Review Criteria
Reviewers provide an objective assessment of the manuscript by focusing on several key aspects:
-
Novelty: Does the paper offer a new contribution or perspective to Sharia business and management?
-
Methodology: Is the research design robust and the analysis appropriate?
-
Literature: Are the references up-to-date and relevant?
-
Clarity: Is the manuscript well-written, logical, and easy to understand?
4. Editorial Decision
Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the Editor will make one of the following decisions:
-
Accept Submission: The manuscript is accepted for publication without further changes.
-
Revisions Required: The author(s) must address minor issues or clarify specific points.
-
Resubmit for Review: The manuscript requires significant changes (Major Revision) and will undergo a second round of peer review after being revised.
-
Decline Submission: The manuscript is rejected due to lack of novelty, methodological flaws, or poor alignment with the journal’s standards.
5. Final Approval and Publication
Once a manuscript is formally accepted, it undergoes copyediting and layouting. A galley proof is sent to the author for final approval before the article is assigned a DOI and published online as part of a scheduled issue.
