The Kusa Manea language in Malaka Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, shows signs of a shift in usage, particularly among the younger generation. This study aims to develop a trilingual picture dictionary (Kusa-Manea–Indonesian–English), test its readability and community acceptance, and analyze its contribution to the revitalization of the regional language. The method used is a participatory approach within Community Service (PKM) activities involving native speakers, teachers, and students. The stages of the service project included vocabulary identification, language documentation, orthography development, dictionary development, as well as validation and readability testing. The project resulted in an illustrated dictionary containing approximately 200 basic vocabulary words accompanied by visual illustrations. Validation showed a high level of acceptance among native speakers, while readability testing indicated that approximately 80% of students were able to understand the vocabulary with the aid of images. These findings demonstrate that the trilingual picture dictionary is an effective literacy tool capable of enhancing language comprehension and supporting the revitalization of the Kusa Manea language through a visual and contextual approach.
Alfred Snae, Thersia Magdalena Tamelan, Festif Rudolf Hoinbala, Erny Selfina Nggala Hambandima, Brigita Halle, Eunike Lado, Gracia J. The program aimed to strengthen Islamic character formation and digital awareness among 700 high school students through two thematic sessions: "Islamic Character Adolescents: Smart, Polite, and Achiever" and "Future Threats for Youth." Using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, activities were carried out across two venues—the school mosque and auditorium—simultaneously. Evaluation was conducted through a post-test and a five-point Likert perception questionnaire completed by all 700 participants. Results showed that 90.0% of participants achieved good to excellent scores on the post-test, with a mean score of 84.6. The average level of agreement across all attitude indicators reached 92.6%, reflecting significant positive changes in participants’ understanding and commitment to Islamic values. The program demonstrates that a well-structured school-based PKM with interactive delivery methods can effectively foster Islamic character among adolescents in public schools with heterogeneous religious backgrounds.
Nurul Mudzakir, Nunuk Luthfiyah, Ika Faiqotul Himmah, Muhamad Hasyim Nur Hamid, Eli Masnawati Copyright (c) 2026 Suluh: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat https://jurnal.stiq.assyifa.ac.id/suluh/article/view/1257 Tue, 07 Jul 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Integrated Community-Based Learning-Based Community Service Model in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Southern Thailand https://jurnal.stiq.assyifa.ac.id/suluh/article/view/1291
Community service is one of the strategies of higher education institutions to expand their contribution in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education and strengthen cooperation both nationally and internationally. This activity is motivated by the need to strengthen religious, educational, social, and cross-cultural competencies in the Islamic education community in Southern Thailand, particularly at the Islamic Santitham Foundation School, Nakhon Si Thammarat. This service aims to implement an integrated service model based on Community Based Learning (CBL) and its impact on the community. The method used is a qualitative approach with a CBL model that emphasizes active community involvement through the stages of observation and identification of needs, program planning, activity implementation, evaluation and reflection, and recommendations for program development. The program was implemented for five months involving university students, teachers, and students from various levels of education. The results of the activity show that the integrated service model was successfully implemented through four main areas, namely the development of Islamic Studies, education and teaching, social and community, and introduction to arts and culture. This program has had a positive impact in the form of improved Qur'an reading skills, strengthened Arabic and English language learning, growing social and environmental awareness, and increasing cross-cultural understanding between Indonesia and Thailand. Thus, the CBL-based integrated service model has proven effective in creating contextual learning while strengthening academic and social relations between nations.
Amami Shofiya Al Qorin, Alifa Sabita, Intan Melati, Khuntum Hoiro Umma, Abin Hamdani, A.M.T. However, many tahfiz programs remain predominantly focused on memorization targets, resulting in limited engagement with the meanings and practical application of Qur'anic teachings. This community service program aimed to enhance students' motivation to memorize the Qur'an, introduce a practical tadabbur technique, and strengthen their interaction with the Qur'an. The program was conducted at Darul Muttaqien Islamic Boarding School, Parung, Bogor, involving 180 male students and employing the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. The implementation consisted of three stages: needs assessment and planning, a motivational seminar combined with practical tadabbur training, and evaluation through questionnaires, observations, and guided practice. The findings revealed that 80% of participants experienced increased motivation to memorize the Qur'an, 90% reported that the training materials were easy to understand, and 100% considered the program beneficial. Observations further indicated a high level of participant engagement (90%), active group discussions, and good performance during tadabbur practice. The program successfully enabled participants to identify the messages of Qur'anic verses, reflect on their personal lives, and formulate concrete commitments to implement Qur'anic values in daily practice. These findings demonstrate that integrating motivational seminars with practice-oriented tadabbur training provides an effective model for strengthening memorization, comprehension, reflection, and the implementation of Qur'anic values among tahfiz students in Islamic boarding schools.
Ghufron Maksum, Khoirul Muhtadin Copyright (c) 2026 Suluh: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat https://jurnal.stiq.assyifa.ac.id/suluh/article/view/1359 Tue, 07 Jul 2026 00:00:00 +0000
