Al-Fahmu: Jurnal Ilmu Al-Qur'an dan Tafsir is a scientific journal published by Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Al-Qur'an As-Syifa Subang, Indonesia. The journal is published biannually (September and March) and was published for the first time in September 2022 in partnership with AIAT Indonesia (Association of Lecturers in Al-Qur'an and Tafsir) and Supervisor by RJI (Relawan Jurnal Indonesia). ISSN (Online): 2962-9314 ISSN (Print): 2964-1659 is a peer-reviewed journal in the field of Al-Qur'an and Tafsir and is intended to communicate original research and current issues on the subject. Articles that have been submitted will be subject to an initial review by the editorial board for a decision to continue with the reviewers or be returned to the authors. The writing is emphasized to have theoretical, empirical, methodological originality, scientific impact and a good level of readability.

Journal History

Since June 2022, the editorial team of Al-Fahmu: Jurnal Ilmu Al-Qur'an dan Tafsir has been formally established and systematically organized. During this initial phase, the team developed the journal’s official website and implemented essential features required for academic journal management and publication.

In September 2022, the journal formally applied for both electronic and print International Standard Serial Numbers (e-ISSN and p-ISSN) to support the publication of scholarly articles. The e-ISSN (2962-9314) was officially issued on September 27, 2022, and applied retroactively to Volume 1, Number 1 (September 2022). Subsequently, the p-ISSN (2964-1659) was issued on December 9, 2022, also applying to Volume 1, Number 1 (September 2022).

Beginning with Volume 1, Number 1 (September 2022), the journal published five peer-reviewed articles. From Volume 2, Number 1 (2023) through Volume 4, Number 1 (2025), the journal consistently published ten articles per issue. In Volume 4, Number 2 (2025), the journal published more than ten articles following its official accreditation at SINTA Level 3, achieved through a highly selective and rigorous editorial and peer-review process.

Starting with Volume 4, Number 2 (2025), the journal implemented an article processing charge (APC) policy. No submission fee is required at any stage of manuscript submission. However, upon acceptance for publication, authors are required to pay an Article Processing Fee of IDR 750,000. This fee supports DOI activation, language and readability enhancement, professional proofreading, and article layout preparation.

In January 2026, Al-Fahmu: Jurnal Ilmu Al-Qur'an dan Tafsir plans to submit an application for Scopus indexation after completing comprehensive adjustments to meet international publication standards. This process is being conducted under structured guidance and mentoring provided by Relawan Jurnal Indonesia.
