About Journal

Al-Afkar: Jurnal Pemikiran Mahasiswa Pendidikan is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Research and Community Service Department (LPPM) of As-Syifa College of Qur’anic Studies (STIQ As-Syifa), Subang, Indonesia. The journal is published four times a year (August, November, February, and May), with its first issue released in August 2025. Currently, Al-Afkar is in the process of applying for an ISSN.

Al-Afkar serves as a platform for students to publish scholarly works grounded in Qur’anic studies and Islamic intellectual traditions. The term “Pendidikan” in this journal refers to the process of intellectual and moral development inspired by Qur’anic values, rather than a specific discipline of educational science.

The journal aims to communicate original research and contemporary issues related to ‘Ulum al-Qur’an, Qur’anic exegesis (tafsir), and the development of Islamic thought. It welcomes contributions in the form of empirical research, conceptual studies, and literature reviews that demonstrate originality, methodological rigor, and relevance to current academic discourse.

Al-Afkar: Jurnal Pemikiran Mahasiswa Pendidikan is a peer-reviewed academic journal that focuses on the development of student scholarship in the field of Qur’anic studies and Islamic thought. The journal provides a platform for students to engage critically with the Qur’an as a primary source of knowledge within the Islamic intellectual tradition.

The term “Pendidikan” in this journal is understood as the process of intellectual and moral formation grounded in Qur’anic values, rather than as a formal discipline of educational science. Accordingly, the journal emphasizes studies that explore the Qur’an and its interpretative traditions as a foundation for developing thought and understanding.

The journal accepts original research articles, conceptual papers, and literature reviews that demonstrate analytical depth, methodological clarity, and relevance to contemporary issues in Qur’anic discourse.

The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to:

Qur’anic exegesis (tafsir) and thematic interpretation, including their relevance to educational thought
Methodologies of tafsir in relation to knowledge and learning processes
Studies in ‘Ulum al-Qur’an and their contribution to educational values
Qur’anic perspectives on intellectual, ethical, and spiritual development in education
Contextualization of Qur’anic values in social and educational contexts
Development of Islamic thought based on Qur’anic foundations in relation to education

All submissions undergo an initial editorial screening followed by a peer-review process to ensure academic quality, relevance, and integrity. Authors are fully responsible for the content of their work.
